The American University of Paris is proud to present historian Joshua Rubenstein who will discuss his most recent book The Last Days of Stalin -- a gripping account of the months before and after the dictator's death and how it changed the course of history.

Mr. Rubenstein has written and edited several path-breaking books on Soviet history, with a focus on the dissident movement, the Holocaust on German-occupied Soviet territory, and biographies of Leon Trotsky and the controversial Soviet-Jewish writer Ilya Ehrenburg.听The Last Days of Stalin听is his tenth book. It has been translated into nine foreign languages. Editions Perrin has just published a French edition.
Joshua Rubenstein has been professionally involved with human rights and international affairs for over forty years as an activist and independent scholar with particular expertise in Russian affairs. He was an organizer and regional director for Amnesty International USA from 1975 to 2012. He is also a longtime Associate of Harvard鈥檚 Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies and is currently a development officer at Harvard Law School.
