  • Offers 1-1 appointments for students who need additional support with accessibility related AI tools听

Help with AI issues/challenges听

  • Available to speak with faculty on a case-by-case basis if any AI tools that are approved for a student's accessibility raise issues or concerns. We are always looking for alternative tools if a current AI tool is being misused or not addressing the accommodation needs.听

    • 60 licenses distributed evenly and based on need across faculty and staff听
    • While Canva has significant AI functionality built-in, much has been deactivated to first allow the Teaching and Learning Center and other groups at 黑料正能量 to explore the tool and its AI functionality in the context of classroom learning听

    • The Library catalog (Primo OneSearch) now offers an internal AI tool that, when queried, offers an overview based on 黑料正能量 Library sources as well as links to those sources听
    • Freely available to anyone听
    • To use it: in the Primo OneSearch box on the , click the search button to get to the Simple Search page, then click 鈥淩esearch Assistant鈥 at the top left听
  • Many Library-purchased resources are beginning to offer integrated AI tools for exploring their content, including:听
    • 鈥 summarizes and responds to questions about articles, recommends related JSTOR content and topics听
    • 鈥 answers queries based on Chronicle of Higher Education content archive听

Writing Lab听

Help with AI issues/challenges听

  • AI tools are not currently part of the Writing Lab's toolkit or best practices, but they continue to grapple with the question of whether to recommend AI generated tools to students who visit them听
  • This term they are:听听
    • Playing with, creating, testing, revising, and trying out some AI powered prompts that could potentially benefit students in their writing process: from generating ideas and narrowing the scope of the writing project to reverse outlining听
    • Discussing ethical concerns that come with adopting these tools听
  • When/if they choose to use AI tools, they will ask to see the student's course syllabus, read together their professor's policy on AI use in class, and discuss the repercussions of violating 黑料正能量鈥檚 academic integrity code.听
  • They are eager to learn how faculty are reimagining / reshaping assignments, activities and policies; how they are navigating AI鈥檚 challenges and opportunities in their classes; and how the Writing Lab can support you. 鈥淧lease contact us with feedback and suggestions.鈥澨
