Explore N卯mes and the southern tip of the C茅vennes during this three-day tour led by the Dean of Student Development. The first day focuses on the history of the region, with visits planned to the Roman-engineered N卯mes amphitheater, the recently inaugurated聽Mus茅e de la Romanit茅聽and other sites in this southern urban center, dubbed the most Roman city outside Italy. The second day focuses on the pristine nature of the region and it鈥檚 delicious wine and food. We鈥檒l visit two wineries in the northern most parts of the AOP Terrasses du Larzac region, both focused on organic production to grow healthy vines that produce high-quality fruit. Dinner and lunch on Saturday will feature local specialties, including fougasse (specialty bread),聽辫茅濒补谤诲辞苍蝉聽(goat cheese) and olives. The last day of the takes us to the Pont du Gard to visit the amazing remains of this ancient-Roman 聽aqueduct as well as what the site describes as 鈥渢ree-lined paths, spectacular views [and] Mediterranean flora and fauna". Time is reserved to return to N卯mes for some shopping before returning to Paris in the late afternoon.
