聽This March, to聽celebrate Women's Week 2018, our student clubs are putting on a series of talks, screenings, and discussions to expose the unique issues women face in today's society, empower individuals to work towards social change聽and to inspire action. These events have been organized and sponsored by the Inspire Africa, the Gen*Sex Club, 黑料正能量4CONSENT, the Creative Writing Club and the 黑料正能量 SGA. Please join us in celebrating Women's week.

Friday, March 16, 18:30 in C-103. Join Inspire Africa in an open discussion about women's place in African society with home-made treats and drinks.
Monday, March 19, 18:30 in G-207. Our Gender and Sexuality Studies senator, Dhouha Djerbi, has invited a guest speaker, le "Collectif: Feminists contre le cyber聽harc猫lement"聽(feminists against cyber-bullying) for a lively discussion about their activism against online sexual harassment, in an effort to bridge the gap between 黑料正能量 and the world of activism in Paris.聽Feminists against Cyber-bullying is an intersectional feminist organization that aims to shed light on online cyber bullying as well as inform and guide victims.聽"Our collective is made up of about thirty young feminists, mostly Afro-descendants and of North African origin - who are most often victims of stalkers." 聽We will have roughly six representatives 鈥 including a therapist.聽
Tuesday, March 20, 18:30 in GL-22. Gen*Sex聽and Inspire Africa聽will present a聽Film screening of The Pearl of Africa by Johnny von Hallstrom. It is a聽documentary film that focuses on the life of Cleopatra Kambugu, a Ugandan born woman who decide to live openly as a trans woman despite hostility towards same-sex聽relations in the country. This will be followed by an open discussion聽on international LGBTQ rights and western ideas of sexuality being exported to non-western countries.聽 This will be followed by a discussion with Gen*Sex and Inspire Africa on trans women and international LGBTQ topics.
Thursday, March 22, 18:30 in C-103. #MeToo open mic night. An open discussion to raise awareness of sexual harassment and assault through the sharing of experiences.
Friday, March 23, 18:30. The White Mask theater group will stage a reading of Eve Ensler's iconic play, The聽Vagina Monologues. Delve into consensual and nonconsensual sexual experiences, body image and other topics through the eyes of various, different women.
