Though Rwanda is at the top of the charts today, this was not always the case. Only 23 years ago, Rwanda experienced one of the deadliest genocides in the world. From April 7, 1994, to July 1994, approximately 1,000,000+ lives were lost to a genocidal mass slaughter of the Tutsi.
