This trip, focused on Cairo, one of the largest, oldest, and most important cities in the Arab world, complements student study of the texts and ideas looked at in class. It introduces students to the history and development of the city and its architecture, with visits to media institutions and NGOs helping them to understand contemporary events in Egypt and the Arab world and how these are experienced by practitioners in the field.
